Mission

The University of Florida’s Behavioral Consultation Team (BCT) supports and enhances the health, safety, and well-being of the campus community through the proactive identification, assessment, intervention, and management of persons and/or situations that reasonably pose a threat.

Introduction

The University of Florida’s Behavioral Consultation Team is comprised of strategically selected University staff assembled for the purpose of threat assessment and management. The purpose of BCT is to facilitate cross campus collaboration and information sharing with the goal of maintaining the health, safety, and well-being of the University community. The BCT is focused on gathering as much information as possible to make informed and objective decisions regarding persons of concern for the safety and security of the University community. The BCT also strives to devise holistic intervention plans to best support persons of concern and move them toward a path of success. Additionally, the BCT aims to coordinate with campus and community partners to provide support and assistance to harmed parties, protected parties, and those impacted by circumstances that come to the attention of the Team.
