Threat Behavioral Assessment and Management at the University of Florida

Mission

The University of Florida’s Behavioral Consultation Team (BCT) supports and enhances the health, safety, and well-being of the university community through the identification, assessment, intervention, and management of persons and/or situations that may reasonably pose a threat of harm to themselves or others, or of serious disruption to the university.

Purpose

To support and enhance the health, safety, and well-being of the university community.

Scope

BCT is responsible for the identification, assessment, intervention, and management of persons and/or situations that may reasonably pose a threat of harm to themselves or others, or of serious disruption to the university.

-Members of the university community

-Persons who may reasonably impact the university community

 Authority

The BCT has authority to act on behalf of the university within its scope as outlined in its mission and shall consult with and report its actions to the Vice President of Business Affairs and Vice President of Student Life, as appropriate.

-The BCT shall establish a team protocol and define and schedule appropriate team training.

-Pursuant to Florida law, BCT meetings and documents are exempt from public disclosure.
